Now that Easter’s been and gone, suddenly Spring is properly here and Summer doesn’t seem so far away. Especially since we have no fewer than 3 bank holidays in the month of May, thanks to the addition of the King’s Coronation Bank Holiday on the 8th. And, all across the UK, the organisers of outdoor events from village fêtes and country fayres to full-on music, arts and literary festivals are obsessed with the long-term weather forecast and the ever-changing outlook on their smartphones. Because the notoriously unsettled British weather is still as much of a worry as it’s ever been – despite the undeniable fact that the forecasts these days are usually very accurate. The trouble is that if your potential audience’s iPhones tell them they can expect heavy rain or high winds the day your event takes place, you can be sure they’re not coming… Unless, of course, you’re one of the events with the kind of brand (and band) profile that virtually guarantees most tickets will be sold in advance.
If there’s a stage, with lighting and sound systems involved, you’ve already got that covered in case of rain, right? Of course, you have. But, assuming they even turn up, what about your audience? Clearly we’re biased, but still, we’d suggest that stretch tents for festivals are a far more stylish, comfortable and cost-effective way than a few thousand umbrellas or leaving it (and your finances) to the fickle hand of Fate.
If the notion of providing cover for your audience as well as your performers and catering providers hasn’t occurred to you, it’s probably because what comes to mind is the old-fashioned draughty-village-hall-made-of-canvas that is the traditional marquee. In complete contrast, when we talk about stretch tents for festivals, we mean something altogether sexier and much more stylish.
Take a look at our stretch tents for hire and for sale, and you’ll see what we mean. Those undulating curves don’t just look super-cool and keep the rain at bay – they’re warmly welcoming, too. Those Bedouin-inspired open sides raise up to allow free movement – of people as well as fresh air, which is great when it’s hot. But what comes as news to many of our new stretch tent converts is the fact that they’re so utterly versatile: in inclement weather, you can simply draw the edges down and get cosy. And you might be surprised to learn that a stretch tent’s just as warm in winter as it’s chilled in summer – just add skirts, side panels, doors, and even heating.
Finally, in the spirit of making you less tense by giving you more tents… you’ll be reassured to know you’re dealing with a team who aren’t just stretch tent experts but who are also professional festival organisers with the logistical, technical and creative experience and expertise to add real value way beyond the stretch tent to your event!
